COURSE DESCRIPTION:
One of the most challenging clinical encounters for psychotherapists occurs when working with clients struggling to find intrinsic motivators for change. Motivational interviewing (MI) offers hope by providing a practical, evidence-based approach that helps enhance client motivation, often leading to an increased likelihood clients will make more meaningful and sustained behavioral changes. This interactive, skill-enhancing and fun one-day workshop will provide participants with an overview of the theory, principles and skills of MI, as well as offer psychotherapists a road-map of how to develop deeper expertise in the MI model.
