Group Facilitator- Mikke Pierson

Mikke Pierson is the owner of Pierson Business Growth Solutions, which focuses on helping America’s small businesses define and achieve their goals. Mikke has been an entrepreneur since graduating UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Psychology. He is most known for founding ZJ Boarding House, an Internationally known surf, skate & snowboard business, which he owned for almost 30 years before selling to Billabong. Mikke also co-founded the Board Retailer Association (BRA), which supported action sports businesses nationwide and led to Mikke teaching other retails on how to run their businesses better.

Mikke also works with adults in or recently out of rehab in reestablishing their lives and careers.

The foundation of Mikke’s coaching is to focus on personal and business leadership and communication. Mikke’s teaching follows three core principles developed from his life in leadership roles. Those principles are:

  • All challenges are opportunities.
  • The practice of proactive and positive communication.
  • Stress is a choice.

Mikke was also recently Mayor and Councilmember in the city of Malibu and has been involved in local politics for over 12 years also as a Planning Commissioner and Public Works Commissioner.

Mikke has been on the US and International Board of SurfAid International, which runs health and wellness programs in remote areas of Sumatra. He was also the co-chair of the Santa Monica Homeless Action Network and is on the board of The Volunteer Collective, which acts as a force multiplier for other local non-profits.

Mikke is an avid mountain biker, adventure motorcycle rider, surfer and lives in Malibu with his wife Maggie. They have three children.
