Denise Klein, MSW, serves as the CEO and Co-owner of Milestones Ranch Malibu, a leading dual diagnosis treatment center that was awarded the “Inaugural Small Business Award” by Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath. Denise earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota in 1992. Denise’s dedication to the field of social work was acknowledged when she was named Social Worker of the Year in 1990 by Minot State University.
Her professional journey began as a Family Advocacy Therapist at the Grand Forks Air Force Base, where she supported families dealing with domestic violence and addiction. Later, in Loveland, Colorado, Denise founded the Innerchoice Family Counseling Center, where she implemented an innovative in-home wraparound program for dual diagnosis patients and their families, with a focus on keeping families together.
Denise’s unwavering belief in the potential for growth and change within individuals and family systems, along with her commitment to solution-focused and strength-based approaches, drives her work at Milestones Ranch Malibu. She is passionate about leading teams that prioritize solutions and go above and beyond for patients and their loved ones.
In addition to her work at Milestones Ranch Malibu, Denise is collaborating with Dr. Seth Kadish and Kurt Garbe on a significant book titled “The Truth about Rehab,” scheduled for release in 2025. This book aims to bring compassion back into healthcare and reduce family suffering by emphasizing the importance of relational, rather than transactional, approaches in healthcare for meaningful and lasting transformation.
