What Graduate School Didn’t Teach You About Eating Disorder Treatment

Michelle Gross

Therapists typically receive little graduate instruction on working with eating disordered individuals. This training is intended to provide a broad overview of critical information necessary to provide proper care for the eating disordered client. Facilitators will learn how to assess and diagnose eating disorders, the underlying issues that contribute to the development of an eating disorder, statistical trends in eating disorders, health implications of eating disorders, the way social media is promoting and contributing to eating disorders; lastly, therapeutic tools and interventions to utilize with eating disorders.
